Church Information
Calvary Baptist Church is in its 25th year of ministry in the Kankakee area. God has faithfully provided and guided us these many years.
At Calvary Baptist Church you will find Bible preaching and teaching, a family atmosphere, conservative music and traditional worship. We strive to encourage, teach, and strengthen fellow Christians in a balanced, biblical approach to ministry, telling the good news of Christ's salvation to those who do not know. We believe the entire Bible as the absolute and authoritative Word of God.
There are several opportunities for worship, service and growth at Calvary: Sunday School, Worship Services, Music Ministry (vocal and instrumental), Youth Program, Missions Program and Conference, Outreach Ministry, Evangelistic Meetings, periodic Bible Conferences on special topics (family, etc.), Men's Ministry, Ladies' Fellowship and Nursing Home Ministry.
We are a Baptist church which means we hold the the biblical distinctives of Baptists: Biblical authority; Autonomy of the local church; Priesthood of the believer; Two offices-pastor and deacon; Individual soul liberty; Saved, regenerated church membership; Two ordinances-baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper; Separation of church and state.
We are a fundamental church. We believe in "unqualified acceptance of and obedience to the Scriptures" (Dr. David O. Beale). We strive to practice personal and ecclesiastical purity.
We are an independent church which means we are not under the auspices of any denomination or convention that governs our practice. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Head of the church.
We are not perfect people, but we serve a perfect God. We desire to please the Lord. If this is the kind of church for which you are looking, please call or attend the next available service.
